Le passé ou le futur. L’attitude de la France face au changement politique en Espagne, 1975-1977

Le début du changement politique en Espagne après la mort du dictateur en 1975 a attiré l’attention des pays européens. Cet article propose une première approche de la position adoptée par la France, depuis la montée au trône du roi jusqu’aux premières élections du 1977. Le soutien à la transition espagnole ne tient pas uniquement à des considérations idéologiques, mais aussi au contexte européen, à la défense des intérêts nationaux, à la diplomatie internationale et au système électoral et politique. En définitive, l’analyse du regard de la France durant les premiers moments de la transition est capitale pour comprendre les relations tendues qui se sont alors instaurées entre les deux pays, jusqu’à l’adhésion de l’Espagne au Marché Commun.

Entre el ayer y el mañana. Percepción y actitud francesa ante el cambio político en España, 1975-1977

El inicio del cambio político en España tras la muerte del dictador en 1975 captó la atención de los países europeos. El objetivo de este artículo es realizar un primer acercamiento al comportamiento de la política francesa desde la coronación del rey hasta las primeras elecciones democráticas. El análisis muestra el carácter poliédrico de esta cuestión. El apoyo al proceso no solo dependió de factores ideológicos, sino también del contexto europeo, la defensa de los intereses nacionales, la diplomacia internacional y el sistema de partidos y elecciones. En definitiva, la comprensión de la actitud gala en los primeros momentos de la transición es esencial para poder entender las tensasrelaciones que se forjaron entre ambos países durante la primera mitad de la década de los ochenta.

The past and future of the Frenchperception and attitude in front of the political change in Spain, 1975-1977

The beginning of the political change in Spain after the dictator’s death in 1975 drew the attention of the European countries. This article aims to carry out a first approach of the behaviour of French politics from the king’s coronation to the first democratic elections. The analysis shows the multi-faceted character of this issue. The support of the process did not only depend on ideological factors, but also on the European context, the defence of the national interests, the international diplomacy, and the parties and elections’ system. To summarise, the comprehension of the French attitude in the first moments of the transition is essential to be able to understand the tense relationships that were built between both countries during the first half of the eighty’s decade.
